Privacy Policy
Hainan 499 Symbiosis Technology Co., Ltd. operates the The Verified mobile application and related website services. We process personal information lawfully, fairly, and only as necessary for the purposes described here.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the The Verified app, website, news, accounts, free event registration and ticketing, and related operational support.
2. Information we process
News and basic service
When you browse news, our servers receive the basic request information necessary to provide the service, such as IP address, request time, app version, and network-error information. We use it for content delivery, security, and troubleshooting.
Sign-in and profile
When you sign in with an email verification code, we process your email address, code-delivery and verification records, session information, and records of agreement to legal documents. You may choose to add an avatar, nickname, and bio; avatar images are uploaded and stored for display in your profile.
Free events and e-tickets
For event registration we process the event and ticket-type identifiers, attendee name and email, registration time, ticket code, QR-code payload, ticket status, and check-in time. This is used to generate and show e-tickets, complete on-site check-in, prevent duplicate entry, and support event operations and audit.
Check-in and live statistics
If you are granted an operator role, we process your app role, check-in actions and outcomes, check-in times, and event-related statistics. Users without that role do not see the check-in entry point.
Camera and photo permissions
The app requests camera access only when an operator starts QR-code check-in. It does not continuously use the camera without your action. Photo-library access is requested only when you choose an avatar or save a generated poster. Refusing these permissions does not affect basic functions such as browsing news.
Product analytics
Only with your affirmative consent, we process device or installation identifiers, operating system, app version, session identifier, and interactions such as page views, category changes, refreshes, and shares to understand and improve the product. We do not use this data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking. You can withdraw or restore consent in the app at any time.
WeChat sharing
Only when you choose WeChat sharing does the app invoke the WeChat Open Platform SDK and send the title, summary, link, or image needed to complete your requested share. Tencent processes that information under its own privacy rules.
3. Processing we do not provide
- We do not collect contacts, precise location, microphone, health, or payment information.
- We do not collect IDFA or perform cross-app or cross-site advertising tracking.
- This version does not offer paid tickets, payments, Apple Wallet, or in-app transactions.
- We do not offer virtual-currency trading, exchange, custody, financing, or return guarantees.
4. Retention and security
We retain information only for as long as necessary for the purposes in this policy. We delete or anonymize information when the purpose is complete, the retention period ends, or you make a qualifying deletion request, except where law, event check-in, operational audit, or security-incident handling requires retention. We use access controls, encryption in transit, and security auditing to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss.
5. Third-party services
- Expo for app build and core runtime capabilities;
- Amazon Web Services for infrastructure such as image storage and email verification-code delivery;
- WeChat Open Platform SDK for user-initiated WeChat sharing; and
- Apple system services for distribution, system sharing, and camera and photo permissions.
6. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of relevant personal information, or raise questions or complaints about our processing. You can edit your avatar, nickname, and bio in the app; manage analytics consent in settings; manage camera and photo permissions in your device settings; and start account deletion from your profile. After deletion, we remove or anonymize your profile and sign you out. Existing ticket records may be retained in de-identified form where needed for event check-in, duplicate-entry prevention, and operational audit.
7. Minors
The product is mainly intended for adults. Minors should use it with a guardian's guidance and consent. If we learn that children's personal information was processed without the required consent, we will address it as required by law.
8. Updates
When product functionality or our personal-information practices materially change, we will update this policy and provide notice through an appropriate channel. The updated policy will be published on this page.
